Kool-Aid PLAYdough

Okay, this is probably one of my favorite crafts to date!

I had a hard time finding Kool-Aid packets to use for a couple of different crafts I wanted to try, and by pure chance I found some! Who knew I would find them at my local Deals 4 U, a little local convenient store in my hometown.

So I picked up two of them, I will be going back to get more this week. I got Tropical Punch and Pink Lemonade. I've wanted to make my own Playdough for a long time, my daughter absolutely loves playing with it.
This is so much fun to make, all you need is flour, Kool-aid packets, salt, water, oil. That's it, simple right?

You start off by placing the Flour, Salt, and a Kool-Aid Packet into a bowl. Mix it up.

It doesn't look like much, but with the Pink Lemonade, you can hardly tell it will be pink.

After that is done, you place the water in a pot and bring to a boil. Parent supervision is requires for this part as you are working around the stove.
My daughter is only 4, so I do all stove activities.

Once the water is boiled, you put in the oil with the water and remove from heat. Mixing the oil with the water.

Slowly pour the water and oil mixture into the dry ingredients a little bit at a time, then mix with a spoon and your hands.( don't pour it all in, as it will be to wet). (I used about 3/4 of the water)

Once the water is mixed well into the dough, gently need it, until it becomes the right consistency(close to regular Play-Doh)

This is the End result, using Pink Lemonade. It smells fantastic, and is just as good as store bough Play-doh!

Here is the Tropical Punch Playdough, which I thought was going to be blue from the packaging, but ended up Red!

This is definitely a craft you will want to do with your kid! My daughter loves the two we made, and she had a blast playing with them and smelling them!

Ingredients:
       1 cup Flour
      1/4 cup Salt
      1 Packet of Kool-Aid
      2/3 cup Water
      1 tbsp. Oil

Tip: Make sure to place the Kool-Aid Playdough into an air tight container, or Ziploc bag, to keep it from drying out!
