Homemade Birdfeeders

Bird Feeders!

These little bird feeders, are a simple, and CHEAP craft to do with you child. My daughter and I made these ones in the above picture for her grandparents, and she had a blast making them.
All you need is cookie cutter shapes, Birdseed, water, Knox gelatin, string, and wax paper.

Mix 1 package of gelatin, and 1/4 cup of water and bring to a simmer on the stove, stirring constantly until  gelatin is dissolved.
remove from heat and let it cool for a minute.
stir in 3/4 cup of birdseed.
Lay out a layer of wax paper, place your cookie cutters on top, and fill half way with the birdseed mix.
cut and place you string in the middle of the birdseed, knotting the bottom of it so it will stay together.
Fill up the cookie cutter with birdseed the rest of the way, pushing down lightly, to fill the shape evenly.
Let them dry overnight.

This is a great, simple summer craft to do with your kids, and they make great little gifts(Mothers day is right around the corner!)
